Rumor Control: Maino & Monica Are Not a Couple

Yesterday (Mon. Aug 2) a rumor began to spread claiming that R&B singer Monica and rapper Maino were an item after an Atlantic Records employee hinted that the two were dating when she sent out this picture of them at T.I. and Tiny’s wedding over the weekend in Miami. Maino starred as 1 of 2 leading guys in Monica’s “Love All Over Me” music video (Los Angeles Laker Shannon Brown was “the other guy” who Mo eventually picked to be her husband in the end).

However Monica and her people quickly diffused the story and sent out statements denying that Monica and Maino were a couple. Read on for the statement:

Monica hasn’t been addressing any rumors but feels it necessary to make it clear that she is not in a relationship with Maino at all and apologizes to him his mate and loved ones for any pain this may cause. They in my opinion are both great people and them and their families are all friends but that is all.

The funny part is this photo was taken as they saw each other and said hello. Monica was flown in with myself, other staff and Melinda just in time to be in the wedding. She left her performance and caught two planes to be there. She would never have missed it because she loves and adores her friendship with Tiny. Just wanted you to have the facts.
