B gives her hubby all the props when it comes to paving the way at the storied festival.
Though Beyonce is a household name, she is still conquering new venues, and is surprising herself along the way.
In an interview with Lauren Laverne and Jo Whiley, the singer revealed how exhilarating it was for her to perform at Glastonbury, where her husband Jay-Z famously and controversially performed in 2008.
I felt like a rock star,” said a bewildered B. “I’m so honored. This is like a highlight of my career.”
Beyonce went so far as to suggest that, without Jay-Z’s performance, hers would not have been possible.
“I was able to see my husband perform here a couple years ago and it was one of the most exciting nights for me, and I don’t know if I would have been asked to come if he didn’t do the performance,” explained the singer.
“I don’t normally do festivals and 175,000 people, and I was very nervous,” she said. “And everyone gave me so much love and I will never, ever, ever, ever forget this.”
